As a performance artist I am interested in achieving drama in my poses to highlight the beauty of the human figure. Drama is a theatrical quality that takes one part of a narrative and gives the viewer visual clues that this moment in the narrative is very important. It creates excitement through unexpected visuals that may provoke the viewer to emotion. When I am creating a performance I work with both a rope artist and my love-photographer to choreograph poses and rope tie designs that will be both beautiful and functionally exciting. The camera angles, lighting and props are all positioned to create a dramatic chiaroscuro effect and an expressive, moving drama to amplify and highlight certain areas of the figure and expressions of the face. Also known as shading, chiaroscuro is the use of light and shadow to create a dramatic lighting effect on the figure and objects in a painting. xoxo
