When I model for my own artworks, I realized my interpretation and experience of being bound was much closer to what I envisioned as transcendent, sensual, dangerous and emotionally raw, and in-the-moment representation of my ideas about female power and sexuality. My finished paintings visually project confident self-empowerment and freedom of choice in how I use my own body. Painting myself bound in states of pain or in an altered state (sub space) is a form of healing. xoxo
