Being suspended is not only dangerous but also very painful if the mind does not go into a place called “sub space”. Sub space is a place where the pain inflicted by rope suspension is self-controlled by the rigger and can take me beyond the physical pain of the body. The emotional release I feel is not only a place of blissful altered state but also a very healing experience. I come out of sub space feeling beautiful, loved, and whole. xoxo
