Bondage and BDSM is really about the deep need for human companionship and connection. Growing up in a culture that prefers happy feelings and a distrust of anything that is not designated by a sanctioned, safe tribal ritual, I longed for permission to authentically feel into my life through both the pleasure and pain rather than the sterility of conformity. The narrow definition of intimate relationships I grew up with felt confining and disconnected to me as an artist, medium and a muse. I was searching for a reconnection to the vibrance, radiance and life force energy of a wild, dark feminine. Where was she? I asked, as I painted into my emotions to better understand her. It was not until I started modeling for my own bondage performance that I discovered I could let my imagination go into the erotic world of connecting deep into my own humanity and my lover’s ever-present embrace and aliveness. In bondage, I finally understood that if I take a leap of faith to adventure with him into the mysterious unknown of the other there are untold rewards. The trusting within the communion becomes the erotic moment that I am alive and ever-present on this beautiful planet to learn about love. Namaste. xxoo
